Each October, in recognition of Conflict Resolution Month, the DRC-MC partners with the Peer Mediation Team of the Association for Conflict Resolution (Houston Chapter) to sponsor the Peacebuilding Community Awards. The awards are aimed at honoring people and organizations who work to spread peace in Montgomery and Harris Counties by (1) Establishing/promoting local peace initiatives; or (2) Promoting peaceful conflict resolution practices; or (3) Providing peace training for any age group.
